1. Overview
What is PFP?
It aims to prepare polytechnic-bound Secondary 4 Normal (Academic) students for progression into the relevant polytechnic diploma courses through a practice-oriented curriculum. The programme is conducted over 2 academic semesters at the polytechnics and serves as an alternative to Secondary 5.
Who can apply
Secondary 4 Normal (Academic) students who have taken the N-Level examinations as a school candidate in the preceding year.
Cluster-based PFP
From AY2026 PFP intake, students will be admitted into a PFP cluster, and progress to one of the diplomas within the cluster after completing the one-year programme.
The exceptions are Diploma in Nursing, Diploma in Early Childhood Development & Education, and Diploma in Tamil Studies with Early Education, for which students can be admitted either via the diploma-specific PFP or the relevant PFP cluster.

Release of O-Level results and receive Form P
You will receive a copy of Form P with their PFP PIN for the PFP Admissions Exercise (PFPAE) portal through their schools upon release of the O-level results, if you are eligible to apply for the PFP.

Registration opens from 1.30pm on Friday, 10 January to 4pm on Wednesday, 15 January 2025.
Release of posting results
The PFP posting results will be released at 1.30pm on Wednesday, 22 January 2025 through the PFPAE portal.
If your result is successful and you have accepted the posting, you will be withdrawn from Secondary 5.
Accept, reject or appeal
You will need to accept your offer, reject your offer or submit an appeal for another diploma cluster or course through the PFPAE portal by 4pm on Monday, 27 January 2025.
