Secondary 1 (S1): Receive school posting results

3. Appeal for school transfer

If you are appealing for school transfer due to:

Serious medical conditions

If you assess that your child's posted secondary school is unable to accommodate their physical health needs, you may appeal for a school transfer through the posted secondary school.

Appeals can be filed by 12pm on the following working day after the release of S1 posting results.

Please note of the following before you consider appealing for a school transfer

  • Appeals will only be considered on exceptional basis for students with:
    • Serious medical conditions, such as chronic heart conditions or kidney problems.
    • Severe physical impairments, such as those requiring permanent use of a wheelchair.
  • All appeals must be accompanied by relevant supporting documents, such as medical reports, letters from doctors.
  • School staff will help you to file your appeal and the outcome will be released by early January. However, submitting an appeal does not guarantee a successful school transfer.
  • Students seeking school transfers should continue attending their posted school. Check the school's website for reporting details.
  • Appeals will be considered only for those with serious medical conditions as indicated above.
  • School transfers are subjected to vacancies available at the requested transfer school.
Non-medical reasons

While there may be different reasons for appealing for a school transfer, consider how changing schools can cause potential disruption to your child's learning.

Letting your child settle into their posted school can help them adjust better to secondary school life.

If you are seeking a school transfer for other reasons, keep in mind that:

  • All schools have programmes to cater to diverse strengths and interests. You are encouraged to let your child settle in their posted school to avoid disrupting their learning.
  • Submit your appeal directly to your preferred school.
    • Schools are given the autonomy to manage their appeal cases and may require additional information and documents. More information about the appeal process can be found on the school's website.
  • Your child’s PSLE score must meet the school’s S1 Posting cut-off point (COP) which will be published in 爆料公社app in December 2025, after the release of S1 Posting results.
    • This ensures that the S1 Posting remains fair, transparent and objective for all students. Admitting students who do not meet a school’s COP would be unfair to those with similar or better PSLE scores who were not posted to the school.
  • Your child needs to meet the school’s admission criteria.
  • The school must have available vacancies.
  • Schools will need time to process the appeals, and outcome may only be available from mid-January. While schools have the discretion to consider appeal requests, they may not be able to accept them due to limited or no vacancies after S1 Posting.
